10. Addictive stores like Target, Kohl's and Bed Bath & Beyond are literally 5 minutes away from my house. And my credit card.
9. My bug guy. Been with me thru 3 different moves and is only too aware of how irrationally I freak over those horrid "palmetto bugs". For the record, I have yet to come across one in my latest home, after 4 years. Thank you Patrick. I hope I didn't just jinx myself.
8. Little New York. Sometimes it feels like home, only with nicer weather, affordable houses and no Iraqi cab drivers.
7. Local blueberry farm. Every May they open up to the public for "U-pick blueberries." They have welcomed and remembered us every year, thanks to my daughter's unforgettable hair.
6. Super Wal-Mart. We have 3 within a 10 mile radius. It's absurd, but highly convenient.
5. Good Pizza. If a town doesn't boast at least one good pizza shop, it's time to move. Thank goodness for ours.
4. Men in blue. I realize big cities have bigger fish to fry, but our guys responded within 10 minutes to a certain neighbor rockin out in their garage at 11 pm on a school night.
3. Traffic. It doesn't aggravate the piss outa me here.
2. More bang for your buck. When I moved here from Tampa, I went from renting a 1 bdrm. apt. to owning a 3 bdrm. home, all with a lower monthly payment. Out of control Beagle was extra.
1. Rainbow Rollerland. Roller rinks are practically obsolete - but yes, we have one. It's not the Taj Mahal, but the Taj Mahal doesn't have a disco ball now does it..
