I had a customer who wanted to see a listing today and I called the listing agent who called the seller. The seller first told us one time, changed it a couple of more times to the point where we couldn't schedule it. It turns out that it is a divorce situation and he is not cooperating as much as he could. Unfortunately, this behavior just hurts everyone involved.

I also showed a rental property and the woman showed up with her son. When asking who was intending to occupy the premises, she had tears in her eyes and said, probably just me and my son. After she decided she and her son would like to rent, she asked her son to wait in the car. She then was very honest by telling me she had some financial difficulties and that she was separating from her husband and there were more tears.

Financial woes are causing some serious emotional and more financial problems. I do not know the particulars of each of their personal stories, but the sad truth is we need to find a better path and try to stay together if possible.

The stress of our economy is causing a lot of these problems and we need to find a solution. Families are falling apart and the fallout for these children down the road will not be a positive.
