I love when a new restaurant comes to town. My husband asked me if I saw the English Tea Room on Northcliffe, off of 19, across from Pinch A Penny. He said it is next to the Irish store where the pizza place was. I actually couldn't picture a tea room in a prior pizza parlor.
Anyhow, I am on line in Publix on 19 (Glen Lakes) and the woman in front of me is chatting with me and she tells me she owns the new tea room. What a small world!
Another realtor friend of mine and myself like to find new places and I suggested we try it. The place is adorable (no hint that it was a pizza parlor); done "English grace"; brightly painted yellow and lacey. There was a group of Red Hats (ladies that wear red hats and purple dresses and have to be 50 or over) having lunch. There are only a few tables.
They told us they were short staffed and we did wait a half hour for our lunch which seemed a bit long when there were only six people waiting on lunch (The Red Hatters had finished lunch). However, it was worth the wait and given a little more experience I think they will get better. They come over with a teaport in a tea cozy to start and the menu has sausage rolls (which is what I had and was delicious), my friend had a beautiful Cobb salad. The presentation, as well as the food was wonderful.
