The Florida Association of Realtors (FAR) received $97,000 in grant money to develop local foreclosure prevention programs. FAR plans on using the grant money for promoting a week that will focus on statewide homeownership.
The program is designed to help educate Florida homeowners on loan modifications and refinance assistance. The grant money was received from the National Association of Realtors (NAR). NAR has over $3 million in grant money available to realtor associations all over the country to be used through its Foreclosure Prevention and Response program.
According to NAR president, Charles McMillan, “Realtors build communities and, as the leading advocate for homeownership and housing issues, we believe that any family that loses its home to foreclosure is one family too many.” For more information about the Foreclosure Prevention and Response grant program, visit the NAR Website.
