On Saturday, Inverness will be hosting one of the biggest fireworks shows in the area. It will be at the annual Patriotic evening at Liberty and Wallace Brooks parks. It will be along Lake Henderson near downtown. The opening ceremonies will begin at 7 p.m. in Liberty Park. The celebration is from 5pm till 10 pm. The firework display will start at 9:20 pm. and it will last approximately 25 minutes.  That even rivals the best of them. The good thing is there is no admission or parking fees for this event. Last year this event saw a record of 10,000 people show up. So, I would make sure that you bring your patience with you. This event has some of the best food booths I have seen in a long time. There is also plenty of games for the little ones.  The music will include a performance by the Neon Truckers. So, Grab your lawn chairs, your kids and a blanket and drive up to Inverness for the best fireworks display in Citrus County. 

Pasco County will host the Sparklebration. It begins at 4pm at the Pasco County Fairgrounds. There will be hot dog, pie and watermelon eating contests. Things for the kids include pony rides, bounce houses, slides, and carnival games. They will even have a petting zoo. I was told that Sky Dive City will have skydivers drop into the parking lot area with the American Flag at 5:15. This event will have entertainment by Steven Marcus, the magician. Kenn Grube – doing his Elvis on tour performance. Ashley Shannon will perform @ 7:15. followed by  Dennis Lee  at 8 pm on the outdoor stage followed by the firework show at 9:15. The admission for this event is $ 3.00 for adults and free for children 10 and under. Parking will cost $ 5.00. This should be a great event for the whole family. Make sure you bring your lawn chairs and a blanket to sit on. It could be a long day.  These are the kind of wonderful events Citrus and Pasco Counties hold.  Come on down and join us. See you there!!
