Is the Homeowner Stability Initiative Plan Going to be Enough?
February 23, 2009

While searching through the morning news I have run across many articles stating that the new $75 billion Homeowner Stability Initiative is not going to be enough to rectify the mortgage crisis.

It is obvious to me that the new plan will not help every homeowner; it's a mistake to think that it could! However, modifying mortgage loans, changing the refinancing guidelines and reducing principals seems like the right route to take to supply aid to struggling homeowners.

For the homeowners that can't afford their monthly payments due to a loss of income, there is another part of the stimulus package that is geared towards creating/saving up to 3.5 million jobs. The Homeowner Stability Initiative will also provide aid for homeowners that owe more than what their home is worth.

However, there are many homeowners out there that are too far gone for this plan to help their situation and there are others that can still afford their monthly payments. These plans aren't designed as a cure-all, they are only meant to provide help for those that still can be helped. The Obama Administration is not going to be able to solve all the problems of the world, but it is providing aid and taking steps in the right direction to solve that ones that they can!
