The County has reduced the impact fees back to what they were in 2001; they went from approximately w the current $9,200 to $4,800. I have to wonder though, if you are having a house built, is that enough incentive for you to have a home built by saving roughly $4,400. It is nothing to sneeze at, but having a house built is not cheap, and if the buyer is in that category, would that have a hugh impact on them?
We reduce the impact by $4,400; now we have to raise the taxes somewhere to make up the deficit; it seems that we are always robbing Peter to pay Paul.
On the positive side, if this really has an impact, that creates jobs, and we all know we can use that. Our contractors are out of work and a great majority of the population in Hernando County are contractors.
Let's hope that it will have a positive effect on the economy.
We will always keep you posted. Have a great day and enjoy!
