Consider this to be your 30 day notice...that hurricane season, here in Florida, will begin! Hurricane season starts on June 1st and ends on November 30th.  The main concern during this time is property damage and most importantly; flood insurance!
 
There are some homeowners that believe that flood insurance is automatically covered on their property insurance; this is not always the case.  Double check to be sure that you are covered, as flood insurance typically takes 30 days to become active after the homeowner applies for the coverage, so in essence, today would be the last day to file before hurricane season officially starts.

Visit Floodsmart.gov for information on how to purchase flood insurance, therefore,  you can be prepared when the rains start to fall again!
