According to the Florida Association of Realtors (FAR), sales of single family homes in Polk County, Florida have risen 46% in a yearly comparison!  Over 200 homes were purchased in Polk County during the month of November; this marks over 100 more homes sold than this time last year.

Real Estate analysts believe that it's the extension and expansion of the federal homebuyer’s tax credit that is creating the continual increase in the sales of existing homes.  The median sales price of homes in Polk County is currently $107,600 compared to $127,400 in November of last year.  The constant decrease in home prices is believed to be brought on by the large amount of distressed properties on the market today.
