The Adopt-A-House program uses volunteers from Volunteer Hollywood to renovate and provide practical restorations for qualified homeowners that typically are in violation of code restrictions, completely free of charge. Generally Adopt-A-House will provide restorations such as painting, landscaping and cleaning for homeowners in need of aid.
Volunteer Hollywood is a program under the Office of Community & International Affairs who recruits volunteers that are willing to dedicate their time and energy into helping build a better Hollywood. Together with the Office of Code Enforcement, the Volunteer Coordinator will determine which home will receive aid from Volunteer Hollywood.
At the moment there is a waiting list for Adopt-A-House projects, as the execution of the restoration of a home depends on volunteer availability, weather and what services are needed. Most of the homeowners will have to wait between 2-4 months before their home can be worked on.
