HELP IS HERE..ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS ASK...

To follow is some additional information on this great program that is available which will help qualified 1st time buyers with their down payment money, closing costs or repair funding so you can buy a home.   You will need to have a Realtor to assist you in finding properties and meeting the guidelines set  for this program.  Fill out your application today and find out in approximately 2 weeks if you qualify.

On Eligible Foreclosed Homes in Hernando County
Fill out the Down Payment Assistance Program Application and return to the Hernando County Health and Human Services Department, 20 N. Main Street, Rm. 161, Brooksville, FL 34601
Contact a Real Estate agent to identify vacant foreclosed properties in eligible areas.
Contact a participating lender to get pre-approved for a mortgage.
Attend an 8-hour HUD certified housing counseling course provided by a HUD Certified Housing Counseling Agency.

The County will review your file and determine eligiability of your Down Payment Assistance Program Application. A letter will be sent to you accordingly.
Select a real estate professional to screen and evaluate a property that meets your needs and your budget.
Submit selected property, (recommended that you select more than one) to the County for determination of eligiability of the property. The County will assess and issue a determination letter.
Obtain a release to make offer from the County.
Work with lender and real estate agent to complete loan package, underwriting and address issues necessary to receive approval for first mortgage and home loan.
Pre-closing to sign County mortgage documents and all other grant required documents.
Attend your closing.
