
Hernnady County is now ready to accept applications if you are qualify for government help to purchase foreclosed homes in Spring Hill or Brooksville. The state signed off on the Neighborhood Stabilization Program and the first phase will give 4.3 million in federal money to help home buyers fix up and purchase foreclosure homes.
As anything else, there is certain criteria; the homes must be located in areas with the greatest need like the city of Brooksville and throughout most of Spring Hill. Each applicant can receive up to $50,000 to fix homes with minimal damage, for closing costs and for down payment assistance. Applicants must meet certain moderate to middle income guidelines - $47,450 for a single person, $54,250 for a family of two and $61,000 for a family of three.
It is given at 0 percent interst, deferred payment loan attached to the home with a lien. If thehome is sold before the "affordability period" of 10-15years, the loan must be repaid. If the applicant lives in the home longer than that period, the loan is FORGIVEN.
