Goldman CEO claims he is doing God's work.
November 12, 2009

Lloyd Blankfein, the CEO of Goldman Sachs, when being interviewed by reporter John Arlidge of the Sunday Times of London, made a statement that he was “doing God’s work.”

Great, then he can work for free.

Well, obviously Blankfein and I have a different view of what God’s work is. His salary is $54 million a year and he plans to hand out $23 billion in bonus money to Goldman Sachs employees this year. $23 billion dollars is enough money to pay the health insurance premium for 1.7 million people of the average American family, which is $13,375 annually.

Goldman Sachs paid only $14 million dollars in taxes last year. Hmmmumm … God’s work? I think Blankfein wants to tax work and not wealth; the opposite of what makes a country productive.

What is going on in Washington when Goldman Sachs got Swine Flu vaccine ahead of everyone else? So Atlanta, (Center for Disease Control) sent the vaccine to Wall Street before it sent it to hospitals, schools and local physicians? Ah … duh … President Obama is this the CHANGE that you promised?

I only got one question … is there anything that these guys CAN’T get away with? Because I think Obama needs to throw these guys out and give some stimulus money to the working class; the ones who actually do the work (when there is any); they are hurting, not Wall Street.

President Obama, I appeal to you to take a page from Blankfein’s “playbook.” He says he is doing God’s work; now it’s your turn to make that statement as you escort him out onto the street (not Wall Street; Main Street.) If I remember correctly, and I believe I do, the only time Jesus got mad enough to become physically abusive was when he threw the money-changers (bankers, Goldman Sachs, etc.) out of the temple.

May our neighbors respect us, trouble neglect us, angels protect us and heaven accept us.
