Over 108 complaints have been filed with the Florida attorney general's office in the last two weeks from people that have become possible foreclosure scam victims! Outreach Housing, located in Margate, Broward County, Florida, is one such company that is being sued by the attorney general.

According to the lawsuit, Florida has estimated that over 600 people had paid fees to Outreach Housing with the hopes that loan modifications and other foreclosure defense services were being provided them. These anticipating homeowners were allegedly informed not to contact their lenders and to continue their dealings with Outreach Housing, alone. This includes making their reduced mortgage payments to Outreach Housing instead of their lenders.

This is one more example of the mortgage fraud that is running amok throughout the country. Again, be cautious with the people that you do dealings with, always keep in contact with your lenders and have an attorney look over any paperwork before you sign it.
