The Flagler County Airport, once known as the Bunnell Auxiliary Field in 1947, has always been a main attraction in Flagler County. While over the years, the airport has remained a small community airport, last year big steps were taken in the development of the facility, the completion of the air traffic control tower.
This is just the beginning! Future projects including new T-hangars, a longer runway and a security fencing are in the works for the airport, bringing job opportunities to the area.
This weekend, starting on Friday, March 26, 2010 and coming to a close on Sunday, March 28, 2010 Flagler County Airport will be celebrating the First Annual Wings over Flagler Warbird Fly-in Air Show! With over 30 vintage Warbirds, Aerial demonstrations, food and family FUN! Admission is only $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for teens and children under 12 are FREE. The airport is located at 201 Airport Rd., Palm Coast, Florida.
According to Roy Sieger, airport director, "Hopefully it will turn into an actual air show and we'll have an acrobatics box and demonstrations," he said. "We want to keep growing it."
