The Redfish are starting to come alive off the waterways of Hernando County. Reports I have read say they are feeding on shrimp & top water plugs. For the best time to catch them, you should get out there on a high tide and fish the outgoing tide. They hang out on or near hard bottoms like oyster beds, rocks & mangroves. We’ve always had good luck fishing under the piers next to the pylons. That's a good spot for Snook too. Make sure you use shrimp with a popping bobber to get their attention. Top water plugs work good in the morning or a white jerk bait from Gulp. Fishing in Hernando County is always an exciting adventure. It’s just another great reason to move to Weeki Wachee.
