Yesterday I had the pleasure of showing homes to a nice couple looking for their first home. Like most young couples just starting out the home they were searching for will be a modestly priced home but still very nice with the ability to grow in value over the years and become a viable investment. While searching for homes I was surprised to find only four homes in their price range that also matched the wish list I was provided. I had become confident and used to a multitude of inventory on the market since the home market had turned. Finding two out of the four homes shown as contenders for a contract did nothing to quite the voices rumbling around in my head. Today I did a search of homes sold since November of last year and I was surprised to find five hundred and two homes have sold in Hernando county up to yesterday. I worry about the first time buyers of modest means not finding the home they are looking for. Quite a few of the builders have stopped building homes though not all. I do see a change in the market as I have said before now is the time to buy especially for the first time home buyer and those looking to change residences for a larger home or those looking to downsize. We do have home availability but the selection is dwindling. The time to act is now so contact your favorite mortgage broker, get qualified and call a realtor today.
