January marks five months in a row that existing home sales in Florida are on an incline, according to Florida Association of Realtors (FAR). With home sales rising 24% and condominium sales rising 13%, this could be a sign that the real estate market is coming back!
Out of twenty different metropolitan areas that FAR covers only six of them saw a decline in home sales! It's believed that these numbers are a direct result of the 33% decline in median home sales. Due to the large number of foreclosures, home sale prices have dropped to a more affordable level; combine that with low mortgage rates and big tax credits, purchasing a home has become much more enticing.
Although nationally, home sales have dropped 5%; here in Florida things are looking up!
