October 25, 2010

In the state of Florida sales of existing condominiums rose 10% in September in a yearly comparison, according to Florida Realtors.

According to the latest housing data, median sales price for existing condos came in at $83,400 in Florida, showing an 18% decrease compared to September of 2009. The median shows the mid-point, meaning that half of the condominiums sold for less than $83,400 and half of the homes sold for more.

According to Wendell Davis, Florida Realtors President, Like the rest of the nation, Floridas housing market is feeling pressure from an uncertain economy, easing foreclosures and increasing job growth would go a long way in stabilizing the market and strengthening the economic recovery. However, current record low mortgage rates along with available and affordable inventory continue to offer a rare opportunity for consumers who are ready to buy a home.
