Buying a Home - Do you Need A Home Inspection?
June 9, 2009

A buyer is usually making the biggest purchase of their life and for some reason, they hesitate when their realtor strongly suggests they get a home inspection. It is usually because they don't want to spend the money. It costs approximately $300 (depends upon the size of the house) and the inspector will check the air conditoning/heating system, the roof, the electric and the appliances. He also will give the buyer a full report with photos. A realtor will suggest a few home inspectors if the purchaser chooses, but the purchaser is urged to pick his own inspector.

If you don't have an inspection, as the old saying goes, "you are being pennywise and pound foolish". Peace of mind is worth $300 when you are making one of the largest purchases you will make in your lifetime.

Have a great day and enjoy!
